1. Homemade items can be good because you can save money. And they can last a lot longer than store bought items. Like when you sew your own clothing they seem to last longer than a shirt or a pair of jeans you bought. They can be taken less seriously than store bought things because we pay for things we can not make. Like jeans and decorations,we want the nice things so we don't have to make them. They seem more expensive in value when we have to take it out our pocket and pay for it. Yes. I can think of a lot of people that have went to community colleges and succeeded more than going to a university. And If you have street more and book smarts some companies are looking for that and they can get a job like that. Malcolm X was just saying that you can go far in life when you have some knowledge. And you can succeed past the minimum rate than you would see on a normal class room setting. And you can be free from struggling if you make something out of your self. You just have to be determined and have the will power. If i was locked up in a jail cell I would increase my science abilities because i want to be a Nurse. And you have to be good at what you do. I would try and go to school for my nursing degree and I would need to sharpen up my other skills. I would need to make myself better. And I would use my new found literacy to practice and learn more about my field that I would like to study.
I completely agree with you Edesha. I feel as though things have more value to a person when they are homemade rather than store bought. It also makes the item more special to a person. I also agree with you on the Malcolm X subject. He wants us all to feel obligated to learn in order to find happiness later in life.
ReplyDeleteI think that just as you said that you would increase your science abilities, I would do the same. I actually said something similar to that. I want to go to medical school, so why not increase your knowledge in your potential profession since there is nothing but time on your hands.
ReplyDeletei agree with the statement that, to get where you want in life you have to be determined and have will power. Some people are not as determined to work for what they want in life anymore, they seem to think stuff is just going to pop out of thin air. People need to have the right support system or they just want to succeed life to know they can better themselves. Malcom wanted to be better and he wanted to learn, and found something that has interested him. If he can do it, we all can.
