In 1. paragraph 8, Claitor writes, “The other teacher acted like an ass”. Could this be because the other teacher was mismanaging his frustration that stemmed from dealing with the same problems affecting Claitor? Yes I think he mismanaged his frustration and he should not of did that because he is not the only one going through that. If these teachers were to get together and propose that the university make some changes, what do you imagine the changes would be? Specifically: I think that they could of made something happen.
a. Thing one they might propose: They might propose the classroom space.
i. And the chances of it actually happening with regard to cost, time frame, or other considerations. It might not because they have little funds to start of with.
b. Thing two they might propose: Classes being canceled.
i. And the chances of it actually happening with regard to cost, time frame, or other considerations. They probably can manage classes if they use the space wisely.
2. How do the problems that Claitor describes about her work affect the students that she teaches? It affects the students a lot because they have students that want to learn and make something out for themselves. And they can not because of the schools resources going to nothing.
3. If these students were to get together and propose that the university make some changes, what do you imagine the changes would be? Specifically:
a. Thing one they might propose: Adding on more classes.
i. And the chances of it actually happening with regard to cost, time frame, or other considerations. It can happen if they argue to the right authority.
b. Thing two they might propose. For the English classes back
i. And the chances of it actually happening with regard to cost, time frame, or other considerations. It could happen but the money is short they would have to mangage the division of it.
4. What are the causes of the problems that Claitor describes? funds are short, They are trying to do to much to the school and they do not care about how it affects everyone else.
a. What other causes might there be for the situation? They do not care.
b. What arguments might be made by someone opposing Claitor’s argument (Rebuttals and backing)? That teachers sometimes do not care.
5. How do looking at the causes individually (analyzing part by part) help you think (or rethink) about what to propose to the university: It helps me realize what some teachers really go through.
a. On the part of the teachers? Getting paid less and classroom space
b. On the part of the students? not getting the proper learning environment
(add any additional thoughts here, rather than going back to revise those sections)
I think that classroom space was a factor also. That still should not affect the students because that is not their problem
ReplyDeleteI agree that the teachers would propose to get new classrooms. I also agree that it would be very difficult to do so because it would cost too much.
ReplyDeleteclassroom space is bit of a problem. in the essay classes were dropped because of low enrollment. but if the classes were all combined this could also be an issue. there will not be as much time to focus on on student when they need help in an certain area.
